Love Is | Vanessa Williams & Brian McKnight
Does anyone remember this song? Either way, check out Brian McKnight’s sweet shirt…I’m pretty sure shirts like that are next up on the hipster circuit.

It doesn’t surprise me that ignorance still runs rampant in our country. The weird thing about the Tweet that the link leads to is that it really doesn’t bother me, at least as an Asian-American. It bothers me as a human being, seeing how low people can be…however, I’d be much more bothered if the tweet came from someone who actually mattered, be it a politician or a media pundit. But, at the end of the day, that tweet just comes from an ignorant extremist. He’s not ignorant because he is a conservative, he’s ignorant because of how he regards other human beings. As a liberal, I like to have faith that not all conservatives are represented by these racist, teabagging wingnuts…just as my fellow liberals aren’t all these crazy drug-addled hippies influenced by Hollywood.
I guess what I’m trying to say is to try not to take these extremists to heart, because they’re shouting really loud, but nothing they’re saying really matters…start worrying when the real people with a real influence start echoing their sentiments en masse.
Weezer is like that cute girl you knew in high school who was also really smart and funny, but she wasn’t part of the “Hot Girl Clique,” nor was she a really popular girl, but she got along well with the people that she hung out with.
Senior year comes along and she doesn’t even know who you are anymore. She wears too much make-up now, her grades started to drop, she’s not funny anymore, and you can’t tell if she’s just playing dumb to hang out with the popular kids or if she really did get that dumb after the four years of high school.
This Must Be the Place | Miles Fisher
originally by Talking Heads
(via copycats)
Besides being a cover of a song, the video itself is also a cover, of sorts, of American Psycho’s Patrick Bateman. Fisher does an insanely fantastic job basically being Bale/Bateman’s doppleganger while the team behind the video pull of a great redux of the set and overall look. —indieandyy
This video is pretty stunning…the likeness between Fisher and Christian Bale is uncanny.
Hey Lover | LL Cool J ft. Boyz II Men
Nearly 15 years after this song was released, I look back and think that this is a kind of creepy song, in the same vein that Death Cab For Cutie’s “I Will Possess Your Heart” and The Police’s “Every Breath You Take” are creepy. I mean, LL is basically stalking this girl…yeah, it’s definitely more than a crush, it’s a fucking obsession.
U Really Got A Hold On Me | Smokey Robinson
old school Sesame Street
Really, U literally has a hold on Smokey, and it’s awesome. Also, Smokey does this song better than The Beatles…but that’s because he wrote it.
Golden Rough | The Bamboos
(via Rollo & Grady)
FUNK! SOUL! GROOVE!
Fake Gold | Tigercity
If I were to direct a movie about a big time drug dealer/gangster, I’d use this song in the series of shots where the dealer is distributing the contraband all over the streets whilst reaping the so-called benefits…also, nosebleeds a-plenty from the over-consumption of cocaine.
Ray Of Light | Snow Patrol
originally by Madonna
(posted at copycats)
I’m not sold on this cover. I’ve heard other Snow Patrol covers where they add energy to the songs they’re taking on, but in this particular cover, they suck all the energy from the original away. I mean, it’s a different take on the Madge song…but, I’ve got mixed feelings on this one.
Mad World | Gary Jules & Michael Andrews
originally by Tears For Fears

Jon Stewart does himself some Glenn Beck.
He nailed this last night.
Spot on.
The Rhythm Method (Move!) | Flobots
If you’re a music geek like me and ever wondered what it sounds like to rap over alternating 7/4 and 3/4 beats, here you go. It’s awesomely disorienting.
